MOSCOW, January 27 /PRRussia/ — Sberbank in association with the Visa International payment system and a major Russian mobile operator, Megafon Moscow, has announced a pilot project, Mobile Bank Verified by Visa, signifying a new stage in the development of Sberbank Mobile Bank services.
Under the project, holders of Sberbank Visa cards, using the Mobile bank service of Sberbank, enjoy wider opportunities in payment for the commodities and services via a handset from any place in the world. With the launch of the Mobile Bank — Verified by Visa service, Sberbank customers receive an opportunity to pay the bills of any subscribers of mobile services and satellite television with bank cards. In the future, plans call for expanding the service to other service providers such as utilities, Internet stores, etc.
Information protection for the service is in the form of check of client by a special PIN, which is required for each transaction and the use of certified encrypted means. The Mobile Bank Verified by Visa service is implemented on Megafon Moscow SIM cards. Clients of the Megafon Moscow network may swap SIM cards free of charge.
