ТАСС/TASS. The rouble's exchange rates at the moment are next to the fundamentally justified level, Bank of Russia chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina thinks.
"Yes, it's close to it," Nabiullina told TACC/TASS.
For January 21, 2015 the Bank of Russia set the official exchange rate of the US dollar at Rub 79.4614 per rouble, or 97.52 kopecks higher than the previous rate. The euro's official exchange rate was raised by Rub 1.7353 to Rub 87.0341.
The dollar strengthened against the rouble on the Moscow Exchange compared to the previous session by Rub 1.61 to Rub 80.17, beating the December 16, 2016 record at Rub 80.10. The euro surged by Rub 1.85 to Rub 87.57.
The rouble has been following on the heels of a slide in crude oil, which lost all of yesterday's gains. Today March Brent dropped 2.23% to $28.12/bbl on London's ICE. The day before Brent advanced above $30/bbl.
