Moscows GUBERNSKY BANK is considering a second regional acquisition, which will give it control over BASHECONOMBANK (Ufa, Bashkortostan). The deal will be completed by years end, when the group will get a new brand. GUBERNSKY shareholders have paid up 50% plus one share in that bank and received the first tranche of 18.4% of shares, GUBERNSKY CEO Viktor Solomin said. GUBERNSKY is controlled by senator Gleb Fetisov. The bank is among top 300 major Russian banks. According to banks rate, its assets were R3.4 billion, as of June 1, capital — R382.5 million. BASHECONOMBANK assets were put by INTERFAX CEA at R1.5b on July 1, 2006 (397th place among Russian banks), capital — R212m (424).
