Russia’s SEVERNAYA KAZNA bank (Yekaterinburg) has switched over to direct settlements with the VISA INT. payment system. In 2006, the bank’s status in VISA INT. was upgraded to that of Principal Member, enabling the bank to connect its processing centre directly to the VISA system. SEVERNAYA KAZNA launched its own processing centre for international payment cards in 2002, the bank said in a report.
