Real disposable monetary income (net of mandatory payments adjusted to inflation) of Russians contracted 5.7% y-o-y in May after a 7% drop in April, preliminary data released by the Federal State Statistics Service on Monday show.
Real income fell 4.9% in January-May 2016, the statistical body's data show.
According to the preliminary data, per-capita monetary income averaged Rub 28,006 in May, up 1.1% y-o-y and down 10.7% against April.
The nominal monthly average accrued wage of an employee rose 6.2% against May 2015 to Rub 36,570. Meanwhile, real wages contracted 1% y-o-y.
As of June 1, 2016 overdue wages came to Rub 4,004 mln, down Rub 50 mln month over month (1.2%). The statistical authority emphasized that overdue wages accounted for less than 1% of the monthly payroll of tracked kinds of economic activity.
