RIA NOVOSTI. The activity to work out a digital budget system in Russia should be performed according to the schedule, and the project needs to be launched by 2020, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev claimed.
"The system has not yet been put into operation, some of its modules and components are under development. It is necessary to supervise that the work is performed according to the schedule. We set the deadline, by 2020 the system should be absolutely and fully ready for operation, all the more since the deadline has already been rolled back. For this reason, ministries and agencies have everything they need to work on the digital budget," Medvedev said at a meeting held by the government committee for information technologies.
The prime minister pointed out that data on all participants of the budgetary process will be presented in the digital budget system. The system makes it possible to see how the budget is formed, which programs and projects are funded from the budget and in what amounts.
"This is important not only for experts and analysts, but also for those people who want to know how the state spends funds. The bulk of state funds come from taxes. The portal should help make the budgetary process as transparent as possible for them," the prime minister added.
