Russias SBERBANK continues to gladden its investors with profits, which in July alone totalled R13 billion. Over seven months, the bank earned R63.8b, its net profit totalled R50.7b, and both indices are roughly 30% higher than in the same period last year. In 1H2006, the balance sheet and net profit equalled R49.9b and R40.7b, respectively. Other banks are trying not to fall behind. The net profit of the BANK OF MOSCOW grew by 40% over six months to R2.8b, VNESHTORGBANKs net profit jumped 2.6 times to R8.63b.
