Alexey Gomus, a CEO of ’Otkrytiye’ bank since February this year, leaves his office to join Uralsib Bank before the end of this summer to become the latter’s vice chairman of the board of directors and to supervise the corporate business department there, ’Vedomosti’ report citing sources from ’Otkrytiye’ and Uralsib. ’There is such an agreement’, says Alexander Vikhrov, the executive director of Uralsib.
This year, the ’Otkrytiye’ corporation intends to consolidate its control in NOMOS Bank. Both banks will develop on their own. The new strategy implies that ’Otkrytiye’ is to become a retail financial institution, while NOMOS which has been historically developing as a corporate bank and has bigger financial balance and clientelle, will focus on corporate clients. The sourses of ’Vedomosti’ say this segment will be supervised by Irina Gordeyeva, a member of the NOMOS Bank board of directors.
One of ’Otkrytiye’s employees said that there are two candidates to fill in the vacancy, who are Evgeny Dankevich and Elena Budnik. Earlier, Dankevich used to head the board of directors of ’Otkrytiye’, while Budnik used to supervise retail business at said bank, but both managers since then have changed their jobs to the NOMOS Bank board of directors in order to arrange the two financial institutions’ merger. ’However, the merger was rejected, and both banks are to be developing on their own, and thus there’s a high probability of Dankevich getting back to ’Otkrytiye’ and helming its board of directors’, the newspaper’s source at the corporation says.
The former senator and founder of ’Rosbuilding’ Sergey Gordeyev also took interest in ’Otkrytie’s retail business. Back in April this year, he became a minor shareholder at the ’Otkrytie’ financial corporation (purchasind a 8% stock of shares), buying out the share of VTB. ’But Gordeyev is not only a passive participant, as he keeps on visiting the bank since June meeting with the retail business supervisors and giving them recommendations on their work’, two of the bank’s employees say.
’Sergey Gordeyev is currently actively participating at ’Otkrytiye’ bank’s strategies of development’, says Alexey Karakhan, a representative of the financial corporation. As Gordeyev is a very creative person, he has taken some interest in the retail banking project, one of the businessman’s aqcuaintances says.
NOMOS Bank will change its CEO in the near future to the bank’s current vice president Dmitry Romayev, two sources close to the bank told ’Vedomosti’. Romayev is to replace the main shareholder of ’Otkrytiye’ Vadim Belyayev on this position.
