Consumer prices in Russia rose 0.1% from July 20 through July 20, the Federal Statistics Service reported on Wednesday. The inflation rate has reached 9.5% YTD.
As previously reported, from July 7 to July 13 prices also rose 0.1%, and grew 0.7% a week ago after a hike in tariffs.
Based on the statistical authority's data, since the beginning of July inflation has equaled 0.9% vs. 0.5% in July 2014.
The Finance Ministry earlier forecast that this July consumer prices in Russia would rise 0.4—0.6% against June and 15.2—15.4% y-o-y. "We anticipate deflation in the second half of the month," Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Oreshkin specified.
