From January through April 2006, the volume of individual bank deposits in Russia grew by 7.9% to R2.971 trillion as of May 1, 2006. Over the period, individual deposits made up 27.9% of banking liabilities compared with 28.3% as of January 2006. Long-term deposits (deposits placed for more than twelve months) grew by 9.4%.
