RIA NOVOSTI. Russian consumer prices in 2011, based on final data, rose 6.1%, becoming the lowest indicator in the countrys newest history (since 1991), the Federal Statistics Service said in a statement.
“In December 2011 the Consumer Price Index equaled 100.4% and 106.1%, YTD, i.e. the lowest reading since 1991," the statistical authority said in a press release.
Final annual data (6.1%) matched the statistical bodys preliminary estimate for a narrow group of goods and services that was published in late December.
The agency noted that in December 2010 prices grew 1.1% and 8.8% during the year. This was the previous lowest indicator since 1991.
