Russia’s ZAO SBERKARTA company is to rebrand the SBERKART payments system because of a growing number of parties to the system, reads a company report. The primary task of developing an interbank payments system was accomplished successfully. According to ZAO SBERKARTA president Alexander Kapustin, the 12 bank-members of the SBERKART payments system will see sizable additions by the year-end. Over 3.15 million Sberkarts were issued as of July 1, 2007. More than 8,900 cash-in centres service Sberkarts. There are 8,500 ATMs accepting Sberkarts, along with 19,800 retail, catering and services outlets in every Russian region.
